What's your story? - Alumni wanted as guest authors

• You gain valuable journalistic experience.
• You get advice from a professional editorial team.
• You gain access to a wide readership in Germany and around the world on Alumniportal Deutschland.
• Your articles are distributed in our , in our and on social media.
• You are introduced as the author of your contribution (). If available, we will link your website, blog or profile on the Alumniportal Deutschland.
• As a guest author for Alumniportal Deutschland you will receive access to exclusive events held by German organisations in your country/at your location.
• Your articles serve as important samples of your work for your future projects.
• Your knowledge, experience and reporting will be helpful to many alumni. 

We are open to contributions from students or alumni who would like to collaborate with us and have interesting, authentic and original content to offer.  

• The proposed content must be a genuine work and not have been previously published in other media.
• The proposed subject matter should be of interest to our target group or fit with the range of topics covered by Alumniportal Deutschland. We are particularly interested in stories.
• Articles should consist of at least 1,000 and no more than 6,000 characters.
• In terms of language, the articles should meet the following basic requirements. Please bear in mind that you are writing for people whose native language is neither English nor German.
  • Simple, clearly structured language
  • No long sentences
  • Short, concise paragraphs of no more than six lines are ideal.
• Language: German or English
• Related video, images or graphics are welcome
• We also reserve the right to edit guest articles. The usage rights for the submitted content lie with Alumniportal Deutschland.

1. You submit your topic proposal using the form.
2. We check the topic proposal and send you our feedback, which may include comments.
3. You start writing and submit your article to us by the agreed deadline.
4. We proofread the article and come back to you with requests for changes if necessary.
5. The article is translated and published on our website. 

If necessary, we will be happy to exchange ideas with you personally via (video) call.
