About the Germany-Egypt-Arab-Region-Alumni Network (GEAR)

The Centre for Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture and Forestry (University of Göttingen), the Institute for Socio-cultural Studies (University of Kassel - Witzenhausen) and the University of Cairo, Egypt have established an Alumni-follow-up working group to provide an efficient service for their graduates who come from Egypt and other near Arab countries.

The three Universities recognised the need for networking in Egypt and thus German university graduates with different scientific backgrounds will be contacted. Graduates that have been awarded a PhD at the University of Göttingen, graduates with a PhD from other German Universities that participated in one of the 42 professional courses on Higher Education in Witzenhausen between 1973 and 2003 and graduates from the University of Marburg from the core group of alumni.

The aim of the Alumni-Network is to carry out scientific conferences, to improve the regional networking and to create a reasonable communication system in Egypt region.
