We use Theatre for Development to promote PrEP uptake among youth in Western Kenya by addressing HIV stigma and misinformation through live, participatory performances. This community-driven approach empowers young people to become peer educators and shift attitudes through relatable storytelling.

Main challenges in the development and implementation of your idea
One major challenge is overcoming deep-rooted stigma and cultural taboos around discussing sexuality and HIV in public forums. Securing sustained community buy-in, especially from local leaders and parents, may require time. Additionally, logistical issues like travel, equipment, and coordination with health services can affect consistency and scale.
Expectations from the challenge
We expect the challenge to provide a platform for refining and scaling our intervention through expert feedback, mentorship, and exposure to like-minded innovators. We hope to gain access to resources, networks, and tools that will strengthen our model, increase its impact, and enhance sustainability across communities
