Main challenges in the development and implementation of your idea

The main challenges in developing and implementing my proposed idea include securing stable funding for equipment, staff, and operations, especially during the pilot phase. Building trust within communities that may be skeptical of external interventions is another challenge. Additionally, coordinating logistics for mobile hubs across remote areas and ensuring consistent quality of care will require careful planning and local partnerships.

Expectations from the challenge

I expect the challenge to provide an opportunity to turn my proposed idea into a tangible project with guidance, mentorship, and visibility. I hope to connect with like-minded innovators, gain feedback to refine my approach, and access resources that can help scale my solution, ultimately improving health access and well-being for underserved communities.

  • Electronic Patient Data Record System (EPDRS)

Uganda has approximately 6,937 health facilities serving low-income and underprivileged communities. Most of these facilities rely on manual, paper-based patient records, which are inefficient, error-prone, and difficult to manage.
To address these challenges, we propose the introduction of an Electronic Patient Data Record System (EPDRS). This system will create a centralized digital database, assigning each patient a unique identifier.
