Previous research shows that a researcher's background affects their inquiry. In this talk, Dr. Mennatullah Hendawy shares her 10 years of experience moving between different fields of work and disciplines. Starting from engineering to architecture, to urban planning, then social science and urban policy, and more recently socio-technical engineering and lastly landing in computer science. In doing so, She reflects on the journeys of many researchers and practitioners who shift in their careers and/or scope of work.
