Intercultural competence is one of the key qualifications in today's globalised working world. Those who have intercultural competence can better avoid the pitfalls that arise due to cultural differences in the work environment.

But what exactly is intercultural competence? And what are the pitfalls to avoid?

This workshop is intended for international career starters or professionals who are starting a career in Germany.

To improve your intercultural communication skills and make it easier to recognise potential conflicts in an intercultural context, this training will provide you with the following intercultural competences:

Self-competence:
o      self-reflection
o     self-perception and perception of others
o     change of perspective

Professional competence
o     knowledge of country and culture
o     dealing with stereotypes and prejudices
o     understanding cultural characteristics, values and ways of thinking
o     getting to know work culture

Social competence:
o     empathy and communicative competence
o     communication skills and active listening
o     dealing with ambiguous situations in a purposeful way
o     cooperative working
o     application of behavioural strategies in role plays, case studies and group exercises or discussions

This workshop also offers you space for your own cases and examples, which can be reflected on and analysed in the group.
