Global Media Forum 2015: Media and foreign policy in the digital age
The Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum is a congress with international reach. The forum draws media representatives from around the world and people from the fields of politics, culture, business, development cooperation and academia. Together they discuss and design approaches to meeting the challenges of globalization in which the media play a central role.
The Global Media Forum 2015 deals with the topic ‘Media and foreign policy in the digital age’. New information and communication technologies have now entered the realm of foreign policy, and they have a direct impact on international relations in the 21st century. A nation’s government is now just one of many stakeholders, Likes and Tweets no longer merely influence private communications.
For the third time, Alumniportal Deutschland participates in the Global Media Forum 2015 with some activities. Two Alumni Reporters visit the panels and workshops and share their impressions in their Alumniportal blogs.
