Giving Tuesday refers to the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It is a movement to create an international day of social engagement and to inspire people to give back. At the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season it is a response to commercialization and consumerism.
As DAAD alumni you surely think back fondly on the wonderful time you spent studying or researching in a foreign country. Would you like to “give something back” and offer a young student or researcher the chance to gain such a life-changing experience of their own?
Would you like to donate for students?
If so, learn more about the DAAD-Stiftung. Every contribution counts.
The DAAD-Stiftung is committed to advancing a charitable purpose – namely, supporting worldwide academic and artistic exchange and promoting international higher education cooperation.
You can either make a donation of a certain amount or provide capital for an endowment, the returns of which can be used to finance an individual scholarship. This kind of support may also be granted by a group of people or e.g. a company.
The DAAD-Stiftung also established a special funding project of its own called the “Emergency Fund”. This fund supports students and researchers who find themselves faced with unexpected hardship through no fault of their own. On given occasion this project’s focus currently lies in the support talented young people who had to flee from her home country in order to facilitate their access to higher education. If you would like to support this funding program, we would be happy for any donation you could spare.
