Call for Applications: DAAD-Alumni Special Project in the framework of the 13th re:publica 2019
On behalf of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau will organize International DAAD Alumni Expert Seminars in combination with the participation at the re:publica in Berlin, Germany.
The programme aims to extend the skills of alumni to resolve development-related issues. It also helps alumni engage with other alumni in academic networks both in their own country and internationally. At the same time, alumni often play an active role as disseminators for knowledge transfer. Ideally, they maintain long-term ties to Germany and cooperate with higher education institutions and companies in Germany.
The Alumni Speical Project in the framework of the 13th re:publica consists of a five-day seminar at the participating higher education institutions - the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau - from 29 April until 5 May 2019 followed by a three-day visit at the re:publica in Berlin (6- 8 May 2019).
Who can apply?
Eligible for participation are Alumni who meet the following requirements:
- Germany-Alumni from developing countries (DAC countries). A stay in Germany of at least 3 months for study, work or scientific research has to be proven.
- A proven working background in academic fields relevant to the topics of the Alumni Expert seminars; for further inforamtion please check the respective calls for applications
- To act as potential multipliers, e.g. people who are decision makers or people who are in a position to disseminate the acquired knowledge for regional implementation.
- Adequate language proficiency which is essential to actively participate in the workshops and discussions as the seminar will be held in English.
