The UN SDG Action Challenge Awards recognize outstanding achievements and innovative efforts to promote action on the Sustainable Development Goals. In order to achieve the 2030 Agenda, we will need to learn from some of the greatest innovators, mobilizers, connectors, storytellers, communicators, visualizers and includers from across the Globe! This awards program by the UN SDG Action Campaign aims to find these change-makers and celebrate achievements being made in every corner of the earth, which all form a critical contribution to the international sustainable development movement.

Members of the global SDG community have been invited to enter their projects, initiatives, networks and people for the chance win a UN SDG Action Challenge Award at the UN SDG Action Challenge Awards Ceremony on 21st March 2018 during the Global Festival of Action for Sustainable Development in Bonn, Germany (21-23 March 2018).

The entry window ran until mid-January 2018 and more than 700 submissions have been reviewed by expert group panels. Out of these submissions 38 pioneer initiatives from all over the world have been selected as finalists for the UN SDG Action Awards. Now you can get inspired by their stories before the winners are announced at the Awards Ceremony.

Germany-Alumni are change-makers!

The Alumniportal Deutschland encouraged Germany-Alumni who are already committed towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals to apply with a project or initiative of their own for the chance to win a UN SDG Action Challenge Award. Great news: One Germany-Alumnus has been successful and is among the 38 announced finalists! Olusegun Osifuye from Nigeria impressed the experts with his project “Nigeria in Maps”, an online catalog of maps about Nigeria on current national issues. Congratulations to Olusegun Osifuye, the Alumniportal is looking forward to meeting you at the Global Festival of Action for Sustainable Development in Bonn, Germany!

Dear Helene,
Thanks for your detailed information about what I asked, now I understood who is the applicant for SDG Action Challenge Award, before, I thought everyone who has been registered as Alumniportal Deutschland user is a member, regardless she/he has not attend any related course in Germany. For this reason, I am less concerned with the SDG ACA. Only I can say, is goodluck for those will be shortlisted.
