UN Summer Academy 2017
Localizing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
21 – 25 August

The UN Summer Academy 2017 is titled “Localizing the 2030 Agenda”.

The Academy, which has been organized by the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) every year since 2012, prides itself on offering executive education, learning and knowledge exchange.

The 2017 edition of the Summer Academy will focus on ways to implement the 2030 Agenda at national, regional and local level, examining the particular role of cities and local authorities in the process. The academy will introduce the concept of sustainable development and the cross-cutting programmatic approaches it requires, provide conceptual background knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals, along with the Paris Agreement under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and foster an exchange about good practices in the field. The academy combines academic rigour with cutting edge thinking, builds on a renowned faculty and is open to UN staff, representatives of local authorities and governments, civil society and private sector representatives alike, as well as a select number of post-graduate students and young professionals, interested in further pursuing opportunities in the field of sustainable development.

See the call for participation for more information about the program.

Too bad that i am seeing this now when the 7th August deadline has lapsed. i am a livelihood development practitioner and as indicated, we are not getting through. I appreciate the comprehensive 17 goals approach and wish to join the US SUMMER ACADEMY next year to learn on how to localize the 2030 agenda to enable us have a sustainable development break through. thump up for the team that came up with this.
