Sustainable Development Goals: MBA program provides solutions for an economic realization
Under leadership of United Nations there is a global discussion on how climate change, consumption of resources or fighting global poverty could be best managed. And it surely will be a key task for enterprises to contribute to that aims and to provide solutions for the world’s sustainability challenges in future. In Germany Leuphana University’s distance learning program “MBA Sustainability Management” intensively concentrates on concepts, how companies could best contribute with a successful economic, ecologic and societal output. Next round is starting in spring 2017, now one could apply.
Applications for the MBA Sustainability Management 2017 are possible until end of November 2016. Start of the study is in March 2017.
The year 2015 was mainly branded by a wide anticipation of United Nations sustainable development goals (SDG). However, increasing consumer demands and risk sensitiveness for green topics, new upcoming regulations and law projects and innovations as well will lead to even more need for change! With its main focus on corporate social responsibility, sustainability management and social entrepreneurship the MBA Sustainability Management is a solid base to make companies or organizations “SDG compatible”.
A match? SDGs an economic action
Within the ongoing transformation many companies simply miss the economic opportunities. To change that above-named MBA program has been created. As future so-called ‘change agents for corporate sustainability’ all students will be qualified to combine economic, societal and ecological success. “We are looking for open-minded personalities, in search for a career opportunity with sustainability”, unveils program director and sustainability scientist Stefan Schaltegger his concept (video in German).
Main focus is to implement sustainability at all levels of economic action, which is done by special MBA concepts such as case studies and exclusive teaching ecosystems.
The MBA Sustainability Management program starts in March 2017 as e-learning supported distance learning course, which could completed as part-time (two years) or full-time. Applications are possible until end of November.
The MBA in Sustainability Management is designed for individuals in business and society who would like to advance sustainable development and are seeking greater responsibility in their organisations – whether as executives, CSR experts or sustainability managers.
A first university degree, good language skills in German and one year working experience are compulsory. The MBA Sustainability Management is offered as e-learning supported distance learning course, but there are seven short attendance phases in Germany.
