Application deadline for the workshop is June 1st, 2016.
In our globalised economy, businesses- both large and small- are constantly challenged to innovate and to adapt to rapidly changing markets and growing customer requirments. Coordinated innovation is the basis for economic stability and growth of future-proof businesses. Nowadays managers understand better than all manager generation before them that the key to successful entrepreneurship in the future is the creation of world-wide networks and part-nerships.
The Business Design Workshop offered by GIZ’s State Office Bavaria combines a wide range of theoretical and practical study in Bavaria. The participants have the opportunity to team up with a selected group of South African profes-sionals to develop an innovative business model. The main focus will be on the energy, climate and environmental sec-tors.
The 2.5 day workshop aims to provide the participating companies with a valuable set of tools for companies that wish to expand their business activities in South Africa or are planning to enter this market. The Design Thinking method enables the participants to identify challenges and discover the potential for solutions and business. In a prototyping process ideas are tested. The next step is to design an inno-vative business model in a co-creation process and to gen-erate a strategy for the implementation. Participants learn how to come to solutions in a structured process. The set-ting of the workshop will allow to gain insights into the market conditions in South Africa, to share important know-hows and to develop a network of partners, which is crucial when initiating new business ideas overseas. Following the workshop, it is planned that South African particpants visit your company for the sake of strengthening the network ties and enhancing mutual understanding on possible coopera-tion lines. After the training, the Bavarian and South African participants are self responsible to bring the developed models into action and to lead the way to further coopera-tion with the South African companies.
