The language tandem programme on the Alumniportal Deutschland

Would you like to improve your German language skills and make new friends at the same time? Then take part in our free language tandem programme on the Alumniportal Deutschland! Together with your partner, you can actively practise your language skills and connect with other German learners.

What is the language tandem programme?

In the Alumniportal's language tandem programme, you meet up with a partner to speak and practise German . You can meet regularly to improve your language skills, correct mistakes and support each other. The focus is not only on learning, but also on personal exchange and making new friends. The programme is aimed at all learners of German, regardless of their language level, and offers a unique opportunity to experience the German language in an authentic way.

How can I participate?

This is an exclusive event for the members of the Alumniportal Deutschland community. A community membership (free of charge!) is required to participate. 

• Please remember that we require a language certificate. You can either upload a certificate that you already have or take a Goethe-Institut language test to determine your language level. You can find more information in the registration form.
• You also need to change something in your profile in the Alumniportal. Go to "Edit profile" and tick the "Language tandem" option under "Offer mentoring" and "Search for mentoring" . This is the only way we can find a suitable partner for you.
• After completing the registration form, we will search for a suitable language tandem partner for you. When we have found a match, you will be notified by us. You will then also receive further details about the programme.
