Szymon Marcinczak will present findings from recent comparative studies on socioeconomic and ethnic segregation in European cities. The presentation will focus on the influence of (macro)structural factors and economic inequality in generating and perpetuating residential segregation patterns.

The lecture will be divided into two parts: one addressing socioeconomic segregation and the other immigrant segregation. Marcinczak will demonstrate how the interplay of various (macro)structural factors leads to diverse levels and patterns of residential segregation in urban Europe.
